Personal Pilates Sessions
Personal Pilates sessions offer specialized one-on-one instruction tailored to your unique needs. They serve as an ideal introduction to Pilates, providing time to learn the exercises, become familiar with the equipment, and build confidence. For those with Pilates experience, individual sessions can deepen your practice and offer targeted support, including focused work for athletes.
Each session explores the mechanics of breathing and its relationship to posture, strength, and movement. From there, we develop a customized plan to help you build strength, flexibility, and mobility to support more easeful, functional movement in everyday life.
Many clients begin with individual sessions before transitioning into group classes. Others choose to continue with one-on-one sessions for the added benefit of focused, personalized attention that they provide.
Clinical & Therapeutic Pilates
Pilates is widely recognized for its rehabilitative qualities, thanks to its focus on breathwork, core strengthening, and functional human movement patterns. Many of the exercises taught in Pilates overlap with those used in physical therapy, which is why clients often mention seeing Pilates exercises during their physical therapy sessions.
At Posture Studio, we build on these foundations of functional human movement to support continued rehabilitative training. Many clients are referred to us by doctors or physical therapists to continue their progress after completing medical treatment.
Our specialized sessions cater to a variety of needs, including pre-surgery preparation, post-surgery recovery, pre- and post-rehabilitation, as well as prenatal and postpartum training.
Postural + Movement Retraining
Postural and Movement Retraining
Postural and movement retraining is at the heart of the work at Posture Studio and one of our most beloved offerings. These sessions are known for uncovering valuable insights that help clients transform their movement patterns and posture.
Sessions typically begin by focusing on the foundational elements of functional human movement. Much like rehabilitation sessions, these foundations include breathwork, freedom of movement, core strengthening and control, efficient limb coordination, and functional movements that support everyday activities.
Clients practice essential human movements such as walking, sitting, squatting, and kneeling, with additional discussions on biomechanics for more athletic movements like running, cycling, using weight machines, or safely lifting heavy objects.
Postural and Movement Retraining sessions are highly specialized and offered exclusively by our Master and Senior-level instructors, Carla Shifflett and Tara Fontenot.
