Physical Therapy

at Posture Studio

A holistic and integrated approach to physical therapy.

We look at the body as a whole - versus isolated symptoms - addressing the point of pain and also the movement patterns that could be contributing to the pain.

We offer a holistic approach to physical therapy which means that we see the body as a whole and not a series of isolated parts. This allows us to treat the root of the issue, leading to decreased chance of re-injury. Our Physical Therapists use a variety of techniques including movement analysis, gait training, manual therapy, joint mobilizations, dry needling and cupping. Exercise therapy and development of sustainable prevention programs are integrated throughout the sessions. .

We want to see you succeed!. Our goal is for you to not need physical therapy as soon as possible, and that once you are out of physical therapy, you have the tools to remain pain-free.

Every session is one-on-one meaning you will be the only patient the practitioner is seeing for the duration of your appointment. We recommend starting with a FREE phone consultation to see if physical therapy at Posture Studio is right for you.

Initial Evaluation

Everyone starts with an initial evaluation that includes an in-depth movement analysis in order for us to get an optimal plan for healing and injury prevention. Our approach is to treat every person as a whole person, not a body part or a diagnosis. This will involve a comprehensive assessment of your pain looking through the lens of the whole body. During this assessment we will develop a movement diagnosis, determining how your movement patterns may be contributing to your pain.

During the initial assessment, we will discuss your current lifestyle, including work and life stressors that may be contributing to pain, nutrition and sleeping habits, as well as your goals to help you reach your optimum lifestyle/function.

An initial assessment will also include assessing gait and functional movement patterns, posture, strength, range of motion, and tests to measure the efficiency of your movement.

From there, we will develop a plan of care to maximize function without meds or surgery. Emphasis is on self management of pain through education regarding self care techniques, and a specific exercise prescription based on your presentation.

Follow-Up Treatments

Posture Studio Physical Therapy is dedicated to developing a treatment program that is uniquely designed for you based on findings in the initial assessment. Our practitioners will provide self-care strategies and guided therapeutic exercises to help you regain full range of motion, strength and improved quality of life. Our goal is to offer the most effective and efficient path to restore your health and physical performance.

Services that may be utilized in ongoing treatments

  • Management of chronic pain due to oversure, misuse or disuse

  • Continued analysis of movement patterns and gait training

  • Manual therapies including joint mobilizations

  • Dry needling

  • Development of prevention programs

All clients must have an initial evaluation before scheduling follow-up treatments.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling sessions may be integrated into your treatment plan. You can book 30 minute dry needling sessions for maintenance anytime after your initial evaluation.

We offer dry needling as part of our integrative approach to physical therapy. Physical therapist, Tara Fontenot, has advanced training in the technique of dry needling. During your initial and follow-up sessions with Tara, she will determine if dry needling treatment is appropriate for your condition.

Dry needling involves the insertion of very fine, sterile needles into tight myofascial points. This creates what is called a β€œtwitch” response and induces a reflexive muscle relaxation which eases muscle tension and helps to reduce pain, restrictions and inflammation.

You can also book 30 minutes dry needling sessions after your initial assessment.
